I have to admit these cookies were an intentional mishap. I’ve seen all sorts of cute cookies on Pinterest and in Kali fashion, dove right into whipping up my GREEN cookies! I was so excited for the kids to be excited I didn’t bother to read how anyone else was making these fabulous green treats!
Well come to find out, the fabulous cookies I didn’t take the time to read about were not at all chocolate chip cookies. They were mint chip, sugar cookies. So after these tasty but less pretty cookies I decided I would set forth to follow directions (for once) and make the mint chip. Mostly because they sounded so yummy.
Typically in Kali fashion, I didn’t have the mint chip or the mint flavoring needed so I ran to the store. Of course wouldn’t you know, Sullivan’s in little old Stockton didn’t have my mint chips!!! And since I’m not due to grocery shop in Dubuque until Thursday it looks like we are sticking with the chocolate chip.
Just follow your favorite chocolate chip recipe and before adding the dry ingredients add 8-10 drops of green food coloring. Then mix well before adding the dry ingredients.
They are not mint chip sugar cookies but they are a nice twist on the plain old chocolate chips!
